Introducing KORmmunity classes
The Team at KOR are proud to introduce the KORmmunity initiative – a scheme that aims to help those adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We recognise the far-reaching effects the pandemic has had on people within the Greater Manchester area – particularly in terms of people’s mental health.
Josh, KOR’s owner, has always spoken about the important correlation between mental health and physical activity, and so we are delighted we are able to offer up our services – free of charge – to those who think they may benefit.
KORmmunity Classes: A note from Josh
“I think it’s fair to say this year hasn’t exactly gone to plan! The restriction on our freedom, separation from our loved ones and limited exposure to the outdoors has created perfect conditions for a decline in our mental health. For some, a gym was a luxury, one which for many will now be taken away due to job loss or financial uncertainty.
As a gym owner and former personal trainer, I have always been vocal about the correlation between physical and mental health and now more than ever I am wondering if there is anything I can do to help this situation.
Here at KOR we would like to offer our facilities for regular group workouts to anyone in Greater Manchester who may be suffering any adverse effects related to COVID-19. Classes will run Monday to Friday at 10am for the remainder of August and will be completely free, as will full use of our facilities.
There are so many benefits to getting fitter and stronger that I won’t even mention them! Instead our objective is to provide a place where people can come free from judgement to let off some steam and meet people in similar situations, or to provide some structure and purpose to the day, challenge themselves physically or at its most basic level simply a place to go to get out of the house!
If this scheme improves just one person’s mental health I will consider this a huge success.
There is no criteria that needs to be met to come along and it is open to any age and ability. If this scheme improves just one person’s mental health I will consider this a huge success.
I look forward to meeting you all.
If you wish to take part in the scheme and come along to one of our classes, please sign up and book on either via our app or via the website. If you have any further questions in relation to the scheme, please contact us at email@example.com. We look forward to seeing you in the studio!
